Bring the whole family and join in the fun at Historic Collinsville for our 2023 Season Opening on April 1 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Bring a picnic and make a day of it! Picnic tables located around the grounds or make use of the covered pavilion.
Since it’s April Fool’s Day, we’ll offer a day full of amusing activities, alongside educational events and demonstrations. Here are a few to look forward to:
- Take the pioneer prankster’s photo scavenger hunt
- Follow the pioneer prankster’s journey of jokes
- 1:00 PM — Tobacco talk in the tobacco barn by Carolyn Ferrell
- Internal combustion engine demonstration
- Blacksmith demonstration in the Blacksmith Shop
- Spinning & Weaving demonstration in the Loom House
- 19th Century children’s activities & games guide at the Wildwood Church and School
- A roaming Confederate Soldier
- A Civil War medical demonstration
- Butter making and storytelling in the Visitor Center
- Wildlife Gone Wild in the Wildlife Center
- 11:00 AM-Noon — The Cumberland Winds Brass Quintet at the Pavillion
- Travelling Caudells will be playing throughout the day.
